Cloudflare R2
Storage
Cloudflare R2 buckets, managed from Rocketeers.
Storage
Buckets for backups and uploads, with scoped keys and a file browser.
Cloudflare R2 is object storage with an S3 compatible API and no fees for data leaving the bucket, which makes it a good fit for media and downloads that are served often. Rocketeers connects to R2 with a set of S3 credentials and handles the bucket work from the dashboard you already use for your sites.
What you get with Cloudflare R2
- R2 buckets created and deleted from Rocketeers.
- An S3 compatible endpoint, so any library or framework that speaks S3 works without changes.
- Connection details ready to place in your application's environment.
- Storage on Cloudflare's network, next to your DNS if you manage it there too.
How the integration works
In the Cloudflare dashboard, open R2 and create an API token with read and write access to object storage. Cloudflare shows an Access Key ID and Secret Access Key for that token. Add them to Rocketeers together with your Cloudflare account ID. Rocketeers then uses the S3 API at your account's R2 endpoint to list, create and remove buckets and to give each site the details it needs.
Good to know
- R2 uses its own S3 credentials, separate from the Cloudflare API token for DNS, which is why it is a separate provider in Rocketeers.
- Cloudflare bills R2 storage and operations directly on your account. Rocketeers never resells storage.
Cloudflare R2 stays your account, on your bill. Rocketeers, the control panel for your own cloud, connects to it with your own credentials.
