  3. Good to know

Hetzner is known for the amount of compute it offers per euro. The German provider runs its own datacenters in Germany and Finland, with cloud locations in the US and Singapore as well. Bring a Hetzner Cloud API token and Rocketeers turns that value into finished infrastructure, with DNS managed in the same place.

What you get with Hetzner

  • Hetzner Cloud servers created, resized and deleted from Rocketeers.
  • A choice of shared and dedicated vCPU plans, including Arm based instances.
  • A complete stack with web server, PHP, database and firewall configured by Rocketeers.
  • Hetzner DNS records managed from Rocketeers alongside your sites.
  • Servers that stay visible in your Hetzner console like any other.

How the integration works

Hetzner Cloud organises resources into projects. Open the project you want to use, generate a read and write API token under Security, and add it to Rocketeers together with the project ID from the console URL. Rocketeers then provisions servers through the Hetzner Cloud API, adds SSH keys, applies firewall rules and installs the stack. Updates, monitoring and deployments run through Rocketeers from then on. DNS records for your Hetzner zones are read and written through the Hetzner API too, so a new site can be pointed at its server without leaving Rocketeers.

Good to know

  • API tokens are scoped per project. If you separate clients or environments into projects, each needs its own token.
  • Hetzner Object Storage is a separate provider in Rocketeers, listed as Hetzner Spaces.
  • Billing is per hour, capped at the monthly price, and Hetzner invoices you directly.

Hetzner stays your account, on your bill. Rocketeers, the control panel for your own cloud, connects to it with your own credentials.
