PlanetScale offers managed databases built for scale and reliability, so your team does not have to run database servers itself. Rocketeers connects to your PlanetScale organisation and makes those databases part of the same workflow as your sites and servers.

• Databases created and deleted from Rocketeers.
• A choice of region and cluster size when you create a database.
• Credentials generated for your sites and ready to place in their environment.
• Usage costs per database, visible next to the sites that use them.

#How the integration works

In PlanetScale, open your organisation settings, create a service token with access to manage databases and read billing, and note the token ID and token. Add your organisation name, the token and its secret to Rocketeers. Rocketeers then uses the PlanetScale API to list regions and cluster sizes, create and remove databases, generate credentials for your applications and read usage so costs stay visible.

#Good to know

• Service tokens can be limited to specific permissions, so give the token only what Rocketeers needs.
• Deleting a database in Rocketeers deletes it at PlanetScale too, so handle that with care.
• PlanetScale bills your organisation directly. Rocketeers never resells databases.
