Satis

PHP

Satis hosting easier than ever before

Satis is the official Composer tool for building a private PHP package repository. Rocketeers deploys and maintains your Satis instance on your own server, so your team gets a fast, reliable registry without the setup overhead.

What Satis does

Satis reads a list of packages and generates a static JSON repository that Composer reads like Packagist. Your team runs composer require as normal; Satis serves the packages from your own infrastructure.

  • Host private PHP packages without publishing to Packagist.
  • Mirror public packages for controlled or air-gapped environments.
  • Create a central company registry your whole team uses.

How Rocketeers runs it

Point Rocketeers at your repository and it handles the rest: the server, the web root, and the build pipeline that regenerates the Satis index on every push. Updates are available in Composer the moment your pipeline runs.

Good to know

  • Satis generates a static file tree, so packages are served at CDN speeds with no runtime dependencies.
  • Rocketeers rebuilds the index automatically when you push to a connected repository.
  • Your packages never leave your own server.

Auth configuration built in

Add bearer tokens or username and password credentials per client. Rocketeers writes them into nginx on the server.
